This photograph was one of many collected by Mary Evelyn Sparrow, wife of Point Allerton Station's second Keeper, William Sparrow. Mrs. Sparrow used the photographs, as well as a set of lantern slides, in public lectures she gave promoting the work of the U.S. Lifesaving Service.
